Worrying Impact of Hay Fever – Affects the Work of over 90% of Sufferers

A new survey by leading charity Allergy UK reveals the worrying impact of hay fever on sufferers. The research has found that over 90% of hay fever sufferers’ symptoms affect their work, school or daily routine and that over 80% reported a negative effect on their mood.

Last summer Allergy UK conducted a survey concerning hay fever, and a new report is released this month – The Impact of Hay Fever – a survey by Allergy UK [1]. The research was carried out in two parts during the spring and summer months of 2015. Part 1 investigated the impact that hay fever has on the daily life of respondents, and part 2 set out to discover whether HayMax allergen barrier balms effectively reduced their symptoms.

Part 1 of the survey found that “A worrying 92% of respondents admitted that their symptoms affect their work, school or daily routine and 81% reported that their allergic rhinitis affects their mood in a negative way.” And 35% of people surveyed said they “would consider their symptoms (or their child’s) to be … severe”.

In part 2, Allergy UK was pleased to see that “HayMax reduced the impact of hay fever for over 80% of respondents.” The survey also found that “85% said they would recommend HayMax™”.

New The creators of the allergen barrier balm, HayMax Limited, have developed a comprehensive guide to managing your allergies, at haymax.biz/allergy-guide/. HayMax™ is proud to be an official corporate partner of Allergy UK.

HayMax organic drug-free allergen barrier balms have an RRP of £6.99 per pot and are available from Holland & Barrett, selected Morrisons, Waitrose and Boots, independent health stores, chemists and pharmacies, on 01525 406600 and on-line at haymax.biz.

About HayMax
HayMax is an organic balm, based on beeswax and sunflower oil, which is applied around the rim of the nostrils and the bones of the eyes to trap pollen before it causes havoc in the body. People prone to hay fever can tolerate a certain amount of pollen without reaction. But once this is exceeded – called the trigger (or sensitivity) level – the allergic reaction occurs. HayMax works by reducing the amount of pollen entering the body, so the sufferer can stay symptom free for longer, or even all day.

HayMax In a survey by leading allergy charity Allergy UK in 2015, when asked if, overall, HayMax worked, 80% said “Yes” [1]. And an independent trial by the National Pollen & Aerobiology Research Unit (NPARU) in 2012 proved that it trapped over one third of pollen grains before they entered the body [2].

HayMax is drug-free and the ingredients have been chosen to be suitable for children of all ages, and pregnant and breast-feeding women. A new variety – HayMax Kids – launches this month (April 2016). HayMax Kids is designed to be instantly recognisable to parents as suitable for children of all ages. It’s eye-catching, friendly and reassuring for parents and children will love the superhero characters – the HayMax Kids, who they can also follow on-line at www.haymax.biz/HayMaxKids.

All the ingredients are organically grown and the balms are certified organic by the Soil Association. Many people choose organic products, particularly when buying for their children; Lucy Johnson comments, “HayMax helps the children's hay fever.” She goes on to say “…… it eases the sneezing and running eyes and is organic so they can use it as much as they like.”

HayMax should be applied morning and evening during the hay fever season, and after sneezing or blowing the nose. It comes in a small handy pot – ideal for a pocket, purse, handbag, school bag or sports bag – that can last up to 6 months.

There are no drowsy side-effects from using HayMax, so it is ideal for when driving, running, cycling or taking part in other sports, for people with active lifestyles and when preparing for and taking exams.

HayMax™ products have gained over 40 awards, including winner in the ‘Health and Beauty’ category of the prestigious 2014 Soil Association Organic Awards, a Highly Commended in the Natural Lifestyle Awards, gold awards from bizziebaby.co.uk, and the Allergy Friendly Product Award – which shows that products are beneficial for allergy sufferers based on consumer opinion and approved by AllergyUK.
